Deadlifting or no deadlifting?

This topic has been hot for quite some time now.

Are deadlifts beneficial, or just a waste of time?

For the start, deadlifts can be very dangerous if you don't do them with perfect form.

They can damage your lower back quite badly, and I think they are not worth taking the risk.

If you still decide to try it, here are some tips that will help you understand the basics:

It can be very tempting to overload the bar at first. Start with a moderate weight.

Keep your back and neck straight (don't look up while performing the exercise).

Don't curl your back when lifting the weight. Keep your back straight during the whole movement.

Try to stay on your heels, and not on your toes.

That being said, you now know the deadlift's basics. As I said, I advise you to start light and work your way up.

Good luck!
